an afterlife of sorts

chalk circles
scorching heat
a small orchestra
an old woman eating sunflower seeds
an even older man smoking a cigar
a sense of doom
gaudy attire
beautiful sharp objects all pointing in one direction
a moving target
a heavy, horned, angry moving target
a dance
an afterlife of sorts

all the talking...

the fleece inn

animatronic sheep digitally rendered onto an artificially irrigated meadow

at the fleece inn
it was the height of asparagus season
and the hollandaise sauce was thicker than the local accent

over the bar, an inscription read:
"we don't serve women-
bring your own"

now we know.
